Food Scientists utilize principles of science and engineering to examine the physical, chemical, and biological properties of food. They create innovative food items, devise food production methods, conduct chemical analyses of food, and assess food safety along with sensory characteristics.
Our objective is to share scientifically validated food knowledge via student instruction, to pursue, validate, and implement food-related information, and to engage through professional, academic, and community outreach initiatives.
The Division of Food Science and Technology provides graduate programs for both Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees, covering diverse specializations within the food science discipline.
