Language Requirements
Qualification Requirements
To be admitted to graduate study in chemistry at the University of Georgia, a student must have earned a bachelor's or master's degree in Chemistry or a closely related field and should have a distinguished undergraduate record. Applications are accepted for Fall semester enrollment.
Required materials include:
Official GRE test scores are NOT REQUIRED for Fall 2022 admission. If you have taken the GRE, then they can be used as supplementary information. The UGA institutional code for Educational Testing Service (i.e., GRE and TOEFL reporting) is 5813.
Names and contact information (email addresses) for individuals providing letters of recommendation
You will provide the email addresses of your recommenders in the application process and they will receive a prompt via email to complete the reference letter.
Unofficial academic transcripts from each institution attended
Electronic copy - uploaded as part of the online application. Students approved for admission will be asked to submit Official Transcripts to finalize their admission.
Statement of Purpose

Curriculum Vitae or Resume

Official TOEFL iBT or IELTS scores sent directly from the testing agency
To expedite review, unofficial electronic scores can be uploaded as part of the online application, but official scores are required to finalize admission and release a decision on your file.
Certificate of Finances Form
Only required if the applicant is accepted for admission.
Minimum TOEFL score requirement: overall score of 80 with at least 20 on speaking and writing
Minimum IELTS score requirement: overall band-width of 6.5, with no single band (score) below 6.0
