The Lamar Dodd School of Art's Art Education program emphasizes critical thinking, hands-on learning, and cross-disciplinary exploration. Qualification Requirements

Applicants will need to create an account before completing the Graduate School application, which calls for education and general background information. Choose PhD/Doctoral with an emphasis in Art when selecting the degree (PhD in Art Education will not be an available option) on the application.

Your statement should describe the topics and questions that are central to your research and any emerging interests you would like to pursue. Please note that the Statement of Intent can be the same document as the Statement of Intent requested in Slideroom.

Transcripts
Applicants will be asked to upload Unofficial Transcripts in the Graduate School application. An official transcript from each degree-granting institution should be mailed directly to the Graduate School only after the applicant has been offered admission. Transcripts issued to the student will not be accepted.

Standardized Tests
Applicants for the PhD are required to submit scores for the GRE. UGA institutional code for ETS reporting: 5813. Scores must be sent to Graduate Admissions directly by the responsible testing agency. Unofficial scores will not be accepted.

TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) is required of international applicants for all degrees for whom English is not their native tongue.
