Qualification Requirements

Applicants must hold a Master's degree from an accredited institution. The application process is done online through the University of Georgia Graduate School. The GRE is not required.

The following required documents should be sent directly to the UGA Graduate School along with your application:

Current resume,
Three letters of recommendation, including one from the applicant's current direct supervisor,
Statement (1000 words) that explains 1) Your reason for pursuing admittance to this program, 2) Why you will be successful in an accelerated program that includes coursework and a dissertation, and 3) Your preliminary and general idea for a dissertation topic and its relevance to you at this time, and
Transcripts from all previously attended institutions.

Minimum TOEFL score requirement: overall score of 80 with at least 20 on speaking and writing
Minimum IELTS score requirement: overall band-width of 6.5, with no single band (score) below 6.0
