The University of Georgia's Social Studies Education program prepares students to teach grades 6-12 through hands-on training. Participants gain real-world experience by observing and collaborating with educators in local schools, progressing to designing lessons and evaluating student performance. This field experience is enhanced by university classes where students refine their teaching methods through faculty mentorship, peer collaboration, and current educational research. Students select a focus area from Economics, History, Geography, or Political Science. Certification requires passing the GACE exam. Graduates may pursue teaching careers or roles in analysis and underwriting fields.
