Students pursuing an undergraduate degree in Science Education can obtain a Bachelor of Science in Education (B.S.Ed.), specializing in one of four core science disciplines: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Earth Science. Upon fulfilling all degree requirements and submitting their application to the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (PSC), graduates will receive a Clear Renewable T-4 Certificate. This certification qualifies them to teach science in their chosen specialization for grades 6-12 in Georgia's middle and high schools. The certificate is widely transferable to most other U.S. states due to reciprocity agreements. Additionally, graduates can apply directly to the PSC for Broad Field Secondary Science certification by passing an extra content knowledge exam, expanding their initial Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Earth Science certification earned through the program.
