The Philosophy program at the University of Georgia helps students explore fundamental questions about existence, knowledge, ethics, and morality by examining key thinkers from Western philosophy.
Through classes in logic, history, cultural studies, language, and ethics, students sharpen their analytical abilities, question foundational beliefs, interpret ideas and experiences, and build persuasive arguments. The degree culminates with a portfolio showcasing the student's top written work along with other academic requirements.
While particularly valuable for pre-law and pre-med students, philosophy also complements careers in science, business, media, political science, education, and any field demanding sophisticated reasoning and understanding of intricate problems.
