The Latin American and Caribbean Studies program encourages comprehensive academic exploration of the region through both scientific and humanistic approaches, cultivating profound knowledge about its diverse cultures and populations. The curriculum focuses on three primary goals:
1. Achieving fluency in Spanish, Portuguese, or French while attaining basic skills in another regional language.
2. Gaining thorough insight into the social structures, cultural traditions, political systems, and economic conditions across Latin America and the Caribbean.
3. Building analytical skills to examine historical and contemporary regional challenges while assessing their worldwide significance.
This program prepares graduates for international business, NGO work, government positions, healthcare, nonprofit sectors, and primary/secondary education. Many students also continue to advanced academic studies.
