The Master of Science in Biostatistics program offered by the Department of Biostatistics mandates at least 36 credit hours of post-baccalaureate study. Participants can select between two specialized tracks. The Biostatistical Methods and Practice track focuses on building a robust theoretical base in biostatistics while providing comprehensive training in methodological approaches. Beyond the fundamental biostatistics curriculum, this track includes specialized coursework in biostatistical theory, survival analysis, and clinical trial design. Conversely, the Health Data Science track prioritizes computational and methodological data science skills tailored for public health applications, equipping students for careers as health data analysts. This pathway supplements core biostatistics courses with instruction in contemporary computing, machine learning, and health-focused data visualization. Most students complete the full-time program in two years. Graduates earn an M.S. in Biostatistics with their selected specialization.
