The population health management specialization offers in-depth, expert approaches for enhancing healthcare systems and policies that influence quality, accessibility, service delivery, costs, and results—ultimately benefiting entire communities both domestically and globally. This concentration addresses two key leadership functions: healthcare administration and public health policy development. Aspiring professionals in this field need expertise in outcome assessment, health economics, strategic planning, community involvement, data interpretation, operational research, and policy formulation. Creating, assessing, and improving healthcare initiatives demands both analytical abilities and interpersonal competencies, along with thorough knowledge of political and economic systems. Our curriculum delivers interdisciplinary education grounded in healthcare services, health economics, and policy studies while equipping students with the theoretical frameworks and technical proficiencies vital for population health leadership.
PHM candidates originate from diverse academic and professional backgrounds. While many hold undergraduate degrees in healthcare administration, policy studies, economics, business, or finance, students from social sciences, basic sciences, and other disciplines frequently transition into this field. A significant portion of enrollees are practicing healthcare providers—either current health profession students or public health practitioners seeking advanced training in policy analysis, health economics, and healthcare systems research.
