The On-Campus Master of Education program equips students for leadership roles in schools and districts.
This campus-based graduate program prepares educators to assume administrative positions by combining academic learning with hands-on practical experience.
The educational leadership master's requires 36 credit hours. Participants may qualify for Florida Principal Certification by completing leadership coursework, field practice, and passing the FELE exam.
Students can choose between two pathways: the certification-eligible track for Florida Level 1 Educational Leadership credentials or the non-certification degree option. Applicants with three years of teaching experience qualify for certification, while others may switch to this track after gaining sufficient classroom experience.
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a degree deemed equivalent by the University Of Florida Office Of Admission.
A minimum grade point average of 3.0 upper-division (last 60 credits) undergraduate work.
An acceptable graduate grade point average for previous graduate work.
A score submission for the Graduate Records Examination (GRE), both the verbal and quantitative sections.
For applicants from countries (including Puerto Rico) where English is not the official language, a minimum score on one of these English Language Skills tests: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): 550 paper, or 80 Internet; International English Language Testing System (IELTS): 6; Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB): 77, or documented successful completion of the University of Florida English Language Institute program.
