The School Counseling M.Ed./Ed.S. and M.AE./Ed.S. program prepares students with foundational skills needed for Florida Department of Education School Counseling Certification. This 72-credit curriculum delivers specialized training for roles as school counselors across elementary, middle, and high school settings in both public and private institutions. As a state-approved program with CAEP (Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation) and CACREP (Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs) accreditation, students must successfully complete all sections of the Florida Teacher Certification Examination (FTCE), including General Knowledge (covering mathematics, English, reading, and writing), Professional Education, and the Guidance and Counseling K-12 Subject Area test before graduating. Qualification Requirements

A recognized baccalaureate, graduate or professional degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or a comparable degree from an international institution.
Applicants with a bachelor's degree only, a minimum grade point average of B (3.0), calculated from all grades and credits after the semester where the applicant reached 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours is required.
Admission to graduate programs in the College of Education is based on a comprehensive review of all application materials. Programs give strong consideration to the statement of purpose, letters of recommendation, relevant work and/or life experiences, and performance in prior undergraduate and graduate coursework (GPA). Admissions decisions are based on selecting outstanding applicants who demonstrate great promise for not only completing their degree, but for becoming a competent professional as well.
An earned masters degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or comparable degree from an international institution. Applicants must have a minimum grade average of 3.0 for all upper-division undergraduate work and acceptable scores on the GRE. These scores are used in the context of a holistic credential review process. Exceptions to the above requirements are made only when these and other criteria, including letters of recommendation, are reviewed by the academic unit, recommended by the college, and approved by the Dean of the Graduate School.
For applicants from countries where English is not the ofcial language, a minimum score on one of these English Language Skills tests, IELTS - 6.0,TOEFL IBT- 80, PBT- 550.
