The Food Science Ph.D. program offers an interdisciplinary curriculum covering Food Chemistry, Food Processing and Engineering, and Food Microbiology and Safety. Candidates must develop comprehensive expertise by completing coursework across all disciplines, with a primary focus on one of the three specialization tracks. The program requires at least 60 credits post-Master's or 90 credits post-Bachelor's. Those admitted with a Master's degree must complete a minimum of 15 credits from designated courses, with the balance earned through research. Applicants lacking prerequisites may need to take undergraduate classes, which won't count toward their graduate degree requirements.
