The department provides graduate programs and research opportunities in computer engineering, electronic devices, electromagnetics, power systems, electronics, as well as signals and systems. Students pursuing graduate studies in Electrical and Computer Engineering come from diverse undergraduate backgrounds, including electrical engineering, various engineering specialties, chemistry, mathematics, physics, and other STEM fields. Both thesis-based and non-thesis master's degree paths are available.
To earn a Ph.D., candidates must complete a minimum of 90 credit hours post-bachelor's degree, which may incorporate master's level coursework from the University of Florida or, when applicable, up to 30 transfer credits from an accredited external institution's ECE master's program.
