The classical studies Ph.D. program offers rigorous training in Greek and Latin languages and literature, equipping graduates for academic careers in research and instruction. Qualification Requirements

To the Ph.D. program (Level II):

a) M.A. in Classics or the equivalent.
b) A GPA of at least 3.25 in previous graduate work, and an undergraduate average as in c) 3 above.
c) Demonstrated reading knowledge of German, French, Italian or Modern Greek (competency in the second language to be demonstrated before the completion of the second year at Level II).
d) Deficiencies that can be corrected within one year will not necessarily prevent admission, if the applicant's record gives evidence of the capacity to undertake and complete guided independent reading and research at the doctoral level.
For applicants from countries where English is not the ofcial language, a minimum score on one of these English Language Skills tests, IELTS - 6.0,TOEFL IBT- 80, PBT- 550.
