The Accounting Ph.D. Program equips students to perform innovative research on accounting topics. This research explores key accounting challenges using theoretical frameworks and methodologies from fields like economics, finance, psychology, mathematics, and statistics. Our faculty members pursue diverse research interests employing various methodological approaches. The program provides comprehensive interdisciplinary education, readying students for careers in academic research settings.
Ideal candidates possess sharp analytical abilities, business experience, excellent communication skills, and dedication to hard work. Our alumni have secured positions at prestigious research institutions including The Ohio State University, University of Illinois, University of Connecticut, Arizona State University, University of Kentucky, and Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Each autumn, we enroll two to four new students. The program typically requires four to five years to complete, involving approximately two years of coursework, successful completion of comprehensive exams (both written and oral), demonstration of research and teaching capabilities, and a dissertation defense.
Admission requirements include a history of academic excellence, adequate score on the GMAT (the average score of recently admitted applicants is 690 for GMAT) with a writing score of at least 5, competence in written.
The school requires a total score of 91 on the TOEFL, including a minimum of 26 on the speaking section; International English Language Testing System (IELTS): 6.
