This cross-disciplinary social science program equips students with both broad knowledge and specialized skills for careers in human services across various sectors - public, private, nonprofit, and corporate. The curriculum covers family life education, youth programs, social services, community initiatives, and extension education. Through core classes in sociology, psychology, and economics plus specialized coursework, students develop expertise to support individuals, families, and communities.
The program trains future professionals to handle typical life transitions, unexpected crises like disasters, and ongoing challenges including poverty and food insecurity. FYCS majors explore foundational social sciences alongside in-depth studies of youth development, family dynamics, and community growth strategies.
Students must have completed a secondary and college or university credentials from non-U.S. institutions.
The university will require the following minimum scores on the redesigned SAT: SAT Reading = 24, Writing and Language = 25 and Math = 24. On the ACT, a minimum score of 19 on the Reading section and 19 on the Math section.
