The University of Florida School of Music commits to nurturing students' musical talents to their fullest. Our string faculty provides individualized attention to support each student's artistic development and personal welfare. Students are motivated to perform all studied compositions. String majors and minors receive: Weekly one-hour private lessons with distinguished faculty artists on their primary instrument (no graduate assistants), Weekly studio sessions and monthly String Area Recitals offering supportive performance platforms, Weekly school convocations to showcase talents while fostering community and professional connections, Advanced chamber music training focusing on classical masterworks, Frequent masterclasses featuring internationally acclaimed guest artists (past visitors include members of the Beaux Arts Trio, Shanghai Quartet, Orion Quartet, Kronos Quartet, Leipzig Quartet, and others).
