The Italian concentration in Foreign Languages and Literatures equips students with language skills and cultural insights to comprehend and value Italy's linguistic heritage, literary works, films, historical background, and social fabric. The curriculum explores the rich cultural legacy of this Mediterranean country spanning from medieval times through the Renaissance to contemporary eras. This Italian-focused track within the Foreign Languages and Literatures degree opens doors to diverse career paths in cultural arts, fashion industry, corporate sectors, global legal practice, teaching, diplomatic services, global affairs, and media. Additionally, it provides excellent preparation for advanced studies in Italian or associated disciplines, enabling specialization in areas like cinema analysis, medieval research, organized crime studies, modernist movements, mystery literature, theatrical arts, Dante scholarship, and human-animal relations research. Students are strongly recommended to participate in University-sponsored international study programs or approved alternatives.
Students must have completed a secondary and college or university credentials from non-U.S. institutions.
The university will require the following minimum scores on the redesigned SAT: SAT Reading = 24, Writing and Language = 25 and Math = 24. On the ACT, a minimum score of 19 on the Reading section and 19 on the Math section.
