The Master of Music in Performance program equips talented musicians for professional careers in the music industry. This highly competitive program offers abundant performance experiences and pairs students with faculty mentors. Participants gain comprehensive practical training in Western classical music performance under the guidance of accomplished artist-educators. Alumni establish successful careers as performers, arts administrators, educators, and other music-related professions.
Within Lamont's violin program, students enjoy numerous opportunities to refine their artistry. The school offers varied ensemble experiences including symphony orchestra, opera productions, as well as chamber, world music, and contemporary ensembles. Lamont violinists receive instruction from globally recognized performers Linda Wang, Igor Pikayzen, and Yumi Hwang-Williams, while also benefiting from Laura Schleiger's renowned teaching methods.
