The Master of Legal Studies in Global Natural Resources, Energy, and Environmental Law welcomes candidates holding either an undergraduate or graduate degree (excluding law degrees). This program caters to working professionals seeking to expand their expertise in the dynamic realm of environmental and natural resources law, while developing comprehensive insights into legal matters at both national and international levels.

In today's fast-paced legal landscape, both legal practitioners and professionals from other fields require knowledge of domestic natural resource regulations as well as international resource governance frameworks.

Our program addresses the growing demand for specialized graduate education in this intricate legal domain. Featuring a robust, multi-tiered curriculum, we equip natural resource specialists and government regulators with deeper understanding of global environmental policies, legal challenges, and resource management issues. Participants can explore cutting-edge courses, including foundational Environmental and Natural Resources Law studies, alongside progressive offerings in renewable energy and sustainability. Additionally, students may acquire practical experience by contributing to the University of Denver Water Law Review.

Qualification Requirements

A candidate for the Masters must have earned a bachelors degree from an accredited higher education institution or in the case of a foreign candidate obtained the equivalent of a bachelors degree from an acknowledged institution of higher learning GRE GMAT is not required except for the Master of Taxation program

GMAT is required only for the Master of Taxation however for any application submitted on or after April 1st 2015 we will consider you waived from the GMAT if you have one or more of the following attributes
You received a Bachelors degree in Accounting or a Business Administration degree with a major in Accounting with a cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 30
You received a Bachelors degree in Accounting or a Business Administration degree with a major in Accounting and you have earned a graduate level degree from an accredited school
A minimum GPA of 2.5 for the baccalaureate degree or 3.0 for all completed graduate coursework.
You have passed all four parts of the CPA Exam Verification must be sent as an official document from the testing authority to Graduate Legal Studies before you can register for classes
GMAT or GRE are not required for any other LLM or Masters programs

The minimum TOEFL score accepted by the Sturm College of Law is 95 internetbased test or 587 paperbased test
The minimum IELTS score accepted by the Sturm College of Law is 7.0
Students must maintain an overall GPA of 2.7 to remain in good standing.
