The Bachelor of Music in Recording and Production program prepares students to become skilled engineers and producers across diverse musical styles including jazz, classical, pop, rock, and more. This competitive program offers conservatory-quality training within a dynamic liberal arts university setting. Participants receive individual music instruction (classical or jazz), explore music history and theory, while simultaneously mastering the craft of creating exceptional audio productions.
Lamont's vocal students learn from renowned instructors Catherine Kasch, Matthew Plenk, Cody Laun, and Heidi Melton, whose collective performance and teaching expertise spans over fifty years. Sahar Nouri serves as Music Director for Lamont Opera Theatre. Additionally, students refine their foreign language pronunciation with Beth Nielsen, a versatile artist experienced in opera, art song, chamber music, and Broadway repertoire.
The Lamont School frequently hosts acclaimed visiting artists for educational workshops and performances. Notable recent guests have featured Christine Brewer, Michelle DeYoung, Ailyn Prez, Greg Carpenter, and Stefano de Peppo.
