At Lamont, trombone and euphonium students learn from Richard Harris, a versatile performer with experience as a soloist, ensemble player, and instructor. Previously serving as Assistant Principal Trombone for the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, he has performed with leading American orchestras such as the Boston Symphony and Metropolitan Opera. His credits include contributions to Grammy-winning recordings and Oscar-winning film scores. Beyond his role at DU, he teaches at the Raphael Mendez Brass Institute and Idyllwild Summer Academy, and organizes his own RichardTromboneCamp for low brass musicians each summer in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
