Lamont's percussion program features passionate musicians committed to excellence as they train for professional music careers. Students learn from John Kinzie, Lamont's Director of Percussion Studies and Colorado Symphony's principal percussionist. Professor Kinzie began his orchestral journey remarkably young, securing the principal percussion role with the Toledo Symphony Orchestra at age 19.
Starting Fall 2024, Michael Van Wirt will assume the role of Adjunct Professor of Percussion as John Kinzie concludes his 28-year tenure.
