The Bachelor of Music in Recording and Production prepares students to become skilled engineers and producers across diverse musical styles including jazz, classical, pop, rock, and more. This competitive program offers conservatory-caliber training within a dynamic liberal arts university setting. Students receive individual music instruction (classical or jazz), explore music history, master music theory, and gain hands-on experience in creating exceptional audio recordings.
Flute students at Lamont join a dedicated, supportive studio environment under the guidance of a nationally renowned orchestral flutist. Professor Julie Duncan Thornton, currently with the Colorado Symphony, has performed with elite ensembles including the New York Philharmonic and Saint Louis Symphony. She mentors top collegiate flutists at the Colorado College Summer Music Festival and performs chamber music with distinguished artists. Her solo appearances include performances with multiple symphonies and at prestigious National Flute Association events. With Trio Arcadia (Flute, Horn and Harp), she has toured internationally, including performances in Australia.
