Lamont's percussion department comprises passionate musicians who combine rigorous training with genuine enthusiasm as they prepare for professional music careers. Percussion majors learn under John Kinzie, Lamont's Director of Percussion Studies and Colorado Symphony's principal percussionist. Professor Kinzie began his orchestral journey remarkably young, securing the principal percussion role with the Toledo Symphony Orchestra at age 19.
