Lamont's trombone and euphonium students learn from Richard Harris, a versatile performer with experience as a soloist, ensemble player, and instructor. Previously serving as Assistant Principal Trombone for the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Harris has performed with leading American orchestras such as the Boston Symphony and Metropolitan Opera. His credits include contributions to Grammy-winning recordings and Oscar-winning film scores. Beyond his role at DU, he teaches at the Raphael Mendez Brass Institute and Idyllwild Summer Academy, while also running his annual RichardTromboneCamp for low brass musicians each summer in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Qualification Requirements

To be competitive for admission students should submit one of the following scores
TOEFL Test of English as a Foreign Language A TOEFL score of 80 or higher with no sub-score below 18 The DU TOEFL code is 4842.
IELTS International English Language Testing System. An IELTS score of 6.5 or higher with no band score below 5.5.
PBT - 550
CAE Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English A grade of C or higher on the CAE.
