Our Chinese courses prepare students to thrive in an interconnected world, providing both language proficiency and cultural understanding. Learners will utilize these linguistic and intercultural abilities across various academic disciplines and professional fields, particularly in international relations and commerce. Participants will hone critical thinking skills to tackle tomorrow's worldwide challenges.

We provide study abroad options in several Chinese cities for students who've completed two years of language instruction. The flagship program is our intensive language immersion at Beijing University's China Studies Institute. Faculty and students work together on initiatives that promote academic research, foster innovative thinking, and contribute to global knowledge.

Students can pursue a Chinese specialization within the Languages, Literatures & Cultures major or minor program.

Qualification Requirements

Contact each of your secondary schools or high schools to have them send your official transcripts to International Student Admission in separate sealed envelopes.
They require you to include certified English translations if your transcript is in a different language.
Your high school counselor can send your transcript electronically through Naviance or the Common Application.
To be competitive for admission students should submit one of the following scores -
TOEFL Test of English as a Foreign Language A TOEFL score of 80 or higher with no sub-score below 18 The DU TOEFL code is 4842.
IELTS International English Language Testing System. An IELTS score of 6.5 or higher with no band score below 5.5.
PBT - 550
CAE Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English A grade of C or higher on the CAE.
