The Elementary Teacher Education (ETE) Honors program offers students an in-depth exploration of educational theory and contemporary challenges through specialized coursework and hands-on experiences. This 30-credit program enables participants to customize their studies according to their academic interests and career aspirations. Small class sizes in education courses foster meaningful connections among students and faculty, while collaborative projects strengthen these professional relationships. The Honors curriculum pushes ETE candidates to analyze the teaching field critically while supporting their professional development. Foundational concepts introduced in 200-level courses prepare students for more advanced discussions in 300- and 400-level classes. The program culminates with a capstone course addressing pressing educational concerns, while research internships, independent studies, and thesis opportunities allow students to investigate topics of personal interest in the field of education.
