Through this 4+1 pathway and careful scheduling of MS courses, students can transition directly into full-time graduate studies, potentially earning their master's degree in just one additional year.
The University of Delaware's Early Childhood Education program equips future educators to support all young children—including those with and without special needs—in achieving their developmental milestones. Alumni pursue careers as classroom teachers in various educational settings, early intervention specialists, child advocates, or professionals in social service organizations.
Our curriculum emphasizes developmental psychology, training students to select teaching methods and resources tailored to individual children's social, intellectual, and motor skill development. Education majors acquire hands-on training through our on-campus children's center and local partnerships, working with diverse populations including children with exceptional learning requirements.
