The Bachelor of Science in Applied Molecular Biology and Biotechnology/Medical Sciences (MS) 4+1 program enables dedicated undergraduate students to earn both their AMBB BS and Medical Sciences MS degrees through five years of intensive full-time study.
Biotechnology applies molecular-level understanding of organisms to develop diagnostics, therapies, and innovative treatments like stem cell and gene therapies. It also contributes to producing advanced biopharmaceuticals and tackling worldwide challenges such as food scarcity via genetically engineered crops. The Applied Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (BAMBB) program equips students for diverse careers in biotechnology through its structured curriculum. Focusing on practical skills and experiential learning, the program builds a strong grounding in the fundamental sciences underlying biotechnology. Students benefit from instruction by both academic and industry professionals, gaining comprehensive insights into biotechnology's potential applications. Mandatory laboratory internships are incorporated throughout the program, allowing students to acquire valuable hands-on experience in professional research environments.
