Students pursuing Women and Gender Studies examine women's historical and contemporary roles globally, while analyzing how gender intersects with systems of power including sexuality, race, socioeconomic status, nationality, faith, ability, and age.
These subjects are explored through an international lens, drawing from multiple academic disciplines such as historical analysis, social sciences, political theory, language studies, economic frameworks, anthropological perspectives, literary criticism, philosophical inquiry, scientific research, theological examination, and artistic expression. The program provides a Bachelor of Arts in Women and Gender Studies with Honors distinction, along with minor options in Domestic Violence Prevention and Services (DVPS) and Sexualities and Gender Studies (SGST). Students can pursue a specialized track in Domestic Violence Prevention and Services. The department also facilitates internship opportunities, allowing students to combine academic knowledge with hands-on professional development. Program participants benefit from personalized academic guidance tailored to their educational path and professional aspirations.
