Political science education covers the study of domestic and global political systems, policymakers, and methods for teaching these subjects at the high school level. The program develops essential abilities in analytical thinking, verbal and written expression, and numerical analysis while preparing students for teaching credentials. Degree requirements include 30 credit hours in political science, with three foundational classes: American Government Fundamentals, World Political Systems, and Political Science Research Techniques. Students then progress to advanced political science classes, complementary studies in economics, history, geography, and psychology, along with pedagogical training. The curriculum culminates in a hands-on teaching practicum.
