Anthropology examines the human experience across all cultures and historical periods. This discipline encompasses several specialized areas (including applied anthropology, archaeology, biological anthropology, and sociocultural anthropology), with the University of Delaware's Department of Anthropology boasting distinguished experts in each field. By combining scientific and humanistic approaches, we investigate human diversity through cultural, historical, environmental, and biological lenses. The department facilitates hands-on learning through laboratory work, ethnographic studies, and archaeological fieldwork. Our curriculum focuses on developing critical analysis, interpretation, and communication abilities, equipping students to navigate global challenges and advance their careers or academic pursuits.
