UConn's Graduate Certificate in Intraoperative Neuromonitoring equips students for careers in this expanding healthcare specialty. Developed by faculty in UConn's Physiology and Neurobiology Department, this intensive nine-credit summer program spans six weeks, giving students the essential training to secure positions as Neuromonitoring clinician trainees. The curriculum enables graduates to effectively contribute to surgical procedures utilizing neuromonitoring techniques.

Qualification Requirements

Earned bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a degree in Physiology, Neuroscience, Psychology, Audiology, Biomedical Engineering, or related majors in the Health and Life Sciences with a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA.
Unofficial transcripts from all schools attended regardless of whether a degree was received.
Demonstrated English Proficiency (does not apply to native English speakers) as measured by the TOEFL (minimum overall score of 550 for the paper-based test or 79 for the internet-based test) or IELTS (minimum average overall score of at least 6.5).
Three letters of recommendation from individuals who can address the candidate's potential for success. For those that have been in the workforce for an extended period of time, these letters may be from professionals, although it is preferable to include at least one academic reference.
Current resume or CV.
A personal statement that describes your interest in pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Intraoperative Neuromonitoring, your ultimate plans, and any formal or informal experiences you have had with neuromonitoring.
The GRE is not required.
A Residence Affidavit and Immunization Records are required.
A cumulative GPA for their most recent degree of 3.0 or higher for the entire degree
A minimum overall score of 53 or higher on the PTE Test.
