The Operations and Information Management (OPIM) doctoral program at the University of Connecticut equips students with the skills to perform innovative research across Management Information Systems (MIS) and Operations Management (OM). The curriculum integrates methodologies from Economics, Computer Science, Operations Management, Operations Research, and Statistics, focusing on applying scientific approaches to real-world business challenges.

Following coursework and qualifying exams, doctoral candidates pursue novel research examining new technologies, algorithms, and their economic and organizational impacts. Alumni have recently completed dissertations on subjects like distributed computing markets, e-commerce platforms, healthcare analytics, and analyzing blog influence metrics.

Three Letters of Recommendation
To the extent possible, these letters should be from academic faculty, and should comment on the applicant's potential for intensive doctoral studies, ability and motivation for scholarly research, and teaching capacity. Letters should be prepared on letterhead. There is no specific form.

Official Transcripts
Unofficial transcripts should be uploaded to the on-line application and will be reviewed as part of the application packet. Official transcripts must be received by the Graduate School prior to matriculation.

A cumulative GPA for their most recent degree of 3.0 or higher for the entire degree
Minimum overall scores of 79 (Internet-based test – iBT/ iBT Home Edition), 550 (Old Paper-based test – PBT) or 22/30 on each of the Listening, Reading, and Writing sections (''New'' Paper-based test- PBT) or higher on the TOEFL test. (TOEFL Essentials is not accepted.)
Personal Statement
A minimum overall score of 6.5 or higher on the IELTS Academic Test
A minimum overall score of 53 or higher on the PTE Test.
