The Department of Linguistics provides two combined degree programs: a collaborative major with Philosophy (Linguistics and Philosophy) and another with Psychology (Linguistics and Psychology). Both programs mandate at least four upper-level courses (12 credits) from each participating department at the 2000-level or higher.
For the Linguistics and Philosophy combined major, students must complete LING 3410Q, either LING 3000Q or 3110, plus two more LING courses at the 2000-level or above. Philosophy requirements include PHIL 3241 and three additional PHIL courses at the 2000-level or higher. Information literacy exit requirements are fulfilled by completing LING 3000Q or 3110, while the writing requirement is satisfied through any approved W course in LING or PHIL at the 2000-level or above, as endorsed by the student's advisor for their academic plan.
