Geography is a multifaceted field that examines the dynamic relationships between human societies and their surroundings. Our faculty instructs classes and conducts research on numerous contemporary subjects including urban expansion, migration patterns and consequences, economic globalization and international commerce, geographic distribution of illnesses, regional growth, climate change worldwide, environmental decline and recovery, watershed and landscape transformations, and spatial data analysis and visualization through geographic information systems (GIS).
Studying geography equips graduates for careers in both private industry and government agencies, while fostering the comprehensive local and worldwide understanding essential for educated individuals. Bachelor of Arts graduates have pursued professions as urban and regional planners, market analysts, environmental program coordinators, site selection experts, and transportation strategists.
The Bachelor of Science program trains students for technology-focused roles as GIS professionals. Those completing undergraduate geography degrees also gain the foundation to advance to graduate studies for Master's and Doctoral degrees, opening doors to college-level teaching positions or more senior roles in governmental and corporate settings.
