Geoscience majors study Earth's composition, processes, and planetary history, particularly examining environmental transformations across geological timescales. Key study areas encompass climate change, water systems, planetary studies, earth movements, fossil records, natural disasters, energy resources, landform development, geophysical phenomena, and ancient climate patterns.
Degree options include either a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts, with the B.S. program offering three specialized pathways.
For the B.A. in Geoscience, students must complete 24 credits of upper-level Geoscience courses plus 12 credits of related advanced coursework, beyond standard college B.A. requirements. Note that cross-listed Geoscience courses cannot count toward the related course requirement.
