The Geographic Information Science (GISci) Certificate offered by the Department of Geography and Environmental Sciences equips CU Denver undergraduate and graduate students, along with non-degree seeking professionals, with expertise in applying spatial reasoning, GISci principles, and geo-technologies across social and physical sciences. This program addresses natural, built, and human environments while highlighting human-environment interactions. The core curriculum builds a comprehensive foundation in spatial technologies and methods, covering geographic information systems, remote sensing, cartography, database management system spatial extensions, and statistics. Building on this foundation, students can pursue specialized areas aligned with their academic or professional interests.
