The Department of Integrative Biology provides a Master of Science (MS) in Biology and a PhD program in Integrative and Systems Biology. Our faculty members come from diverse campus departments and community partners. The MS in Biology enables students to gain specialized advanced training and research experience under the guidance of our globally recognized faculty. This master's program equips graduates for research and teaching careers, roles in business/industry/government, professional advancement, or further doctoral/professional studies. Specializations span from cellular/molecular biology to ecological and evolutionary studies.
This research-intensive master's program requires applicants to identify a specialization area matching a faculty member's research focus. Faculty research interests are listed in undergraduate profiles on the Department of Integrative Biology website (clas.ucdenver.edu/biology/). Prospective students should reach out to potential faculty advisors to check for research group availability.
Program requirements may be updated periodically by the department, and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences may approve individual exceptions. Students are encouraged to consult regularly with their Biology advisor to ensure their study plans meet current requirements.
