The Master of Humanities and Master of Social Science (MHMSS) programs at CU Denver attract students with diverse interests who seek to explore ideas through multiple perspectives. Both the MH and MSS degrees enable students to design customized study plans by selecting courses across various disciplines at CU Denver, breaking down conventional academic barriers. The Master of Humanities program allows students to personalize their academic journey according to their specific goals. Working closely with faculty advisors, students create tailored curricula by blending disciplines like History, Philosophy, Cultural Studies, Film, Gender Studies, Public Policy, Fine Arts, Sociology, Literature, Anthropology, Communications, Political Science, and Economics.
Within the Master of Humanities program, the Philosophy and Theory Track provides an interdisciplinary framework for examining philosophical thought, critical theory, and analytical approaches across humanities fields. Students in this concentration may specialize in areas including philosophy, social theory, literary criticism, cultural analysis, intellectual history, or political theory. The track cultivates sophisticated analytical abilities that synthesize knowledge and critical thinking methodologies demanded by rigorous scholarly investigation.
