The Master of Arts in Economics program equips students with quantitative and applied economic expertise to advance their career prospects in both private and public sectors, or prepare them for doctoral studies in economics and related disciplines.
Our MA curriculum focuses heavily on mathematical and quantitative methods, offering comprehensive training in econometrics, forecasting techniques, large dataset manipulation, and various statistical software applications. This practical training meets employer needs, gives PhD applicants a competitive advantage for elite programs, and increases students' chances of long-term achievement.
Our program's effectiveness is demonstrated by student outcomes. Recent alumni have gained admission to prestigious PhD programs at institutions like Harvard, Stanford, UC-San Diego, Illinois, Michigan State, and University of North Carolina. Some graduates serve as economists in government agencies at all levels, while the majority enter private sector roles as economists or quantitative analysts for companies ranging from local firms to multinational corporations.
