The Songwriter Entrepreneur program equips students with specialized training that blends songwriting artistry, musical proficiency, demo production, and business acumen. This major builds upon the Singer/Songwriter curriculum by incorporating audio production, music industry studies, and performance training. Aspiring Songwriter Entrepreneur students must successfully audition with both their primary instrument and vocal abilities during admissions, while also meeting progressive performance benchmarks throughout their studies. The program readies graduates for diverse careers in commercial music performance, recording arts, entertainment business, and creative fields, while also providing a foundation for advanced studies at prestigious institutions. The Department of Music & Entertainment Industry Studies (MEIS) awards a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Music degree for this concentration.
