The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) collaborates with the School of Education & Human Development (SEHD) to help CU Denver undergraduates accelerate their teaching careers. By enrolling in the Teacher Education minor, you can participate in a 4+1 program that allows you to complete your CLAS degree, obtain a Master's in Teaching, and become eligible for a Colorado Teaching License within five years.
The University of Colorado Denver's School of Education & Human Development draws students dedicated to education and mental health. We complement their enthusiasm with training grounded in diversity, technology, evidence-based methods, and hands-on experience. This is why our alumni are equipped to create immediate and lasting differences in individuals, communities, and globally. The Teacher Education minor intentionally combines practical experience with academic study, aiming to enhance your instructional abilities and understanding to support diverse learners. This minor complements various CLAS majors such as Biology, Communication, English, Environmental Science, Ethnic Studies, Geography, History, Mathematics, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, and Spanish. Your bachelor's degree content should align with your desired teaching specialization in the master's program (for instance, a science-focused degree for secondary science education).
