The 3D graphics and animation program offers a challenging four-year course of study designed to equip students for diverse careers utilizing computer-generated imagery (CG), spanning entertainment, film, television, gaming, healthcare, and scientific fields.
The Visual Arts Department delivers specialized training across six interconnected disciplines: art history, studio art, 3D animation, digital media, illustration, and photographic arts.
Visual Arts cultivates a dynamic learning environment where emerging artists, designers, academics, and curators develop their creative potential through professional practice and critical discourse. The curriculum immerses students in multiple artistic mediums including animation, digital design, drawing, illustration, painting, photography, and sculptural installation, all within a comprehensive research university setting. Instruction balances theoretical foundations in art and media studies with hands-on mastery of contemporary artistic techniques and materials. Art history coursework combines historical perspectives with critical writing and analytical skills.
The department emphasizes diverse perspectives in visual culture and maintains strong connections with professional art and design networks. Internship opportunities are provided. Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) candidates must present their thesis work in the annual spring exhibition during their final semester.
