The Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) serves as the foundational degree for clinical audiology, focusing on building clinical skills and applying evidence-based approaches. The 4-year Au.D. curriculum combines academic instruction, hands-on clinical training, and a culminating capstone project. Participants engage in specialized seminars covering hearing science, clinical audiology practices, and research methodologies, culminating in their capstone work.
The program offers clinical research opportunities across diverse settings, from labs to clinics, under the guidance of faculty experts. Research areas span electrophysiology, psychoacoustics, diagnostic methods for all age groups (from infants to elderly patients), cutting-edge hearing aid technology, speech-in-noise perception, assistive devices, cochlear implants, balance disorder evaluation, and hearing loss treatment/rehabilitation strategies.
Applicants must:
Hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, or have done work equivalent to that required for such a degree.
Show promise of ability to pursue advanced study and research, as judged by the student’s scholastic record.
Have adequate preparation to enter graduate study in the chosen field. Have at least a 2.75 (2.00=C) undergraduate grade point average.
All international applicants are required to meet a minimum standard of English proficiency.
