Our computational biology research focuses on fundamental studies in key domains like systems biology, sequence analysis, network complexity, bioinformatics, and evolutionary biology. We also dedicate substantial resources to creating and implementing algorithmic innovations for diverse challenges, such as protein interaction networks, gene recombination systems, DNA transcription processes, microbiome studies, and evolutionary concepts. Faculty members actively collaborate across campus with organizations like the BioFrontiers Institute, the interdisciplinary IQ Biology graduate program (involving nine CU departments), and Anschutz Medical Campus's Computational Biosciences Program, alongside numerous global, national, and industry partnerships.
