The Global Environmental Affairs certificate enables students to customize their undergraduate education across disciplines while intensifying their involvement with global challenges. The program combines structured academic courses with a 3-credit practical experience outside campus, which can be fulfilled through internships, study abroad programs, or CU in DC. This hands-on component enhances students' learning through real-world application and field experience while helping them showcase their capabilities as they transition to post-graduation careers.

Jointly administered by the International Affairs (IAFS) and Environmental Studies (ENVS) programs, this certificate is available to all CU Boulder majors. It integrates coursework and interdisciplinary knowledge from both IAFS and ENVS to explore connections in worldwide environmental policies and approaches. For IAFS and ENVS majors specifically, it adds significant value to these interdisciplinary degree programs.
