Students in geology programs develop a comprehensive knowledge and respect for our planet: its materials, composition, phenomena, and evolution. Faculty members investigate minerals, sediments, rock formations, fossils, terrain features, and natural fluids/gases to enhance understanding of Earth's systems across time - from its core to the surrounding hydrosphere, atmosphere, and biosphere. Graduates emerge as analytical thinkers with profound respect for Earth's materials, architecture, natural processes, and geological timeline, pursuing rewarding careers with organizations like the USGS, energy sectors, environmental regulatory bodies, and resource conservation agencies.
Undergraduate international students are students who have completed a secondary school and are pursuing a bachelor’s degree, and who have or will be applying for a temporary U.S. Visa, such as an F-1 or J-1.
